I am hating today. The day we leave the European Union. I cannot believe we are this stupid but HeyHo "Will of the people" it is said. Wrongly in my opinion as the Referendum was influenced by Foreign interference and now opinion polls show more people wish to remain. But our millionaire Government will be thrilled that their off shore tax evading exploits will now not be subject to EU scrutiny. The shit aircon collision will be very soon.
Kanuck I am starting to wish I had gone to Canada with you when you went.....
Hello.... hello..... can anyone in UK hear me? I think the UK, sorry, England, can't hear voices from the EU anymore.
Sad day indeed, albeit largely symbolic. I say largely but the first actual effect on us over here in France is that we can't vote in the local elections later this month. There is a plus side to that I suppose; the mayor won't be paying us a visit to see if he can count on our vote.
Hopefully that's the only implication but let's see what BoJo manages to stuff up between now and the end of the year. I really don't want to be heading back to the UK.
I cant see the road ahead being smooth. Firstly negotiating the necessary trade deals by year end is impossible. Secondly because I fear that will prompt Bozo to walk dragging us into a no deal situation throwing us to the mercy of...……….Trump.
It seems to me that this 'isolationist' mindset apparently favored by those 'on the right' is spreading world wide. Witness the rhetoric by the new 'king' to the south of us here, various regimes throughout the middle east and indeed at least two provincial regimes here in Canada. I just hope that those with a wider perspective can keep this dangerous trend at bay although it would seem to be too late for those of you in “Great?” Britain. When do the Scots start rebuilding Hadrian's Wall?
You know, I think there must be something I'm missing. That is, leaving the EU must be a good idea and I'm just not seeing it. To me, it is such an obviously HUGE mistake. Yet others don't see it like that. So many people think it a good thing. How can that be? I must be wrong, nothing else explains it.
Oh well, it's upon us all now. Nothing to be done now but hope it all works out ok. It might, mightn't it? Please.... pretty please.

We have not long left the EU and are now in the transition period where deals should be done to ensure our country will have a future. However...there seems to be more and more we told you so moments cropping up. Don`t think it will be too long before the excrement and the air con meet
My reading of the tea leaves suggests to me that no deals will be done. The fan and the excrement are indeed on collision course. Boris seems, after today, to be paving a path lined with yes men. There'll be a give away budget promising jam for all, all based on the assumption of a resurgent UK economy unburdened by the EU restrictions. Boy oh boy, there'll be 7 types of shit hitting the fan. Batten down the hatches folks, it could get messy.
You are spot on Edgar. His backers. Those who put him in Number 10 want no deal which he is being paid to do for one reason only. They are all wealthy with off shore money which at the moment is hidden from the prying eyes of the EU. Laws are on the way to stop this to prevent tax dodging and money laundering. It is a race for them to get no deal and a race to the bottom for the rest of us.
